Minnesota Transport Police gain Netintelligence Protection
Netintelligence has secured a deal to protect the Officers of the Minnesota Transit Police as they in turn protect the citizens of Minnesota. Netintelligence has been installed onto every sqaud car's on board computer. Netintelligence was selected for its ease of deployment, its centralised management and control and for the unified threat protection that it offered.
Minnesota Metro Transit (MTP) is one of the United States' largest transit systems, providing roughly 95 percent of the 73 million bus trips taken annually in the Twin Cities. Each weekday customers board Metro Transit buses and trains an average of 235,000 times.
Metro Transit has its own police force committed to the safety of its customers and drivers, serving seven counties and 85 cities in the metropolitan region. There are 23 full-time officers, 146 part-time officers and five administrative staff dedicated to one thing: public safety.
Robert Elmers, Captain of Patrol, Minnesota Transit Police stated: 'We selected Netintelligence as our solution as it represented a very easy to use product which hit all the right security bases. As well as the base functionality that we required such as anti virus, web blocking and usage management, we can monitor and control all the computers remotely. Getting real time information from the Control Centre gives us an instant snapshot of all the activities that are being carried out on every computer within our cars, and this allows us to take appropriate actions quickly and easily'.
Robert added: ’Obviously our cars' connectively is mobile - they can not be physically connected to a DSL line or our LAN! - and this is where Netintelligence proves to be smarter than the rest. As Netintelligence is physically installed on every separate on board computer it does not matter how the computers physically connect, yet we know that they are constantly protected even though they are all off our main network."
Phil Worms, Product Marketing, Netintelligence added: 'We are delighted that the MTP have selected our product and we could not have wished for a better endorsement of our technology if we had tried. The use of Netintelligence in MTP's squad cars really does demonstrate that the computing world has gone mobile, and that consideration needs to be given to protecting endpoints which are not connected to the main network. We specifically designed Netintelligence with the MTP scenario in mind e.g. easy deploy and use, combined range of security and protection functions, central & remote management and aimed at organizations and businesses with mobile workers."
Netintelligence offers a simple way to manage and control laptops/desktops (end points) no matter where the end users are. A complete security service, delivered via the internet, which enforces end point protection in real time, regardless of when, where or how the endpoint connects to the web.
Combining core functionality of Anti Virus, Anti Spyware, Web Blocking, Instant Messenger & P2P control, Firewall, Asset and Usage Management with comprehensive reporting - Netintelligence Internet Security enables the central application and enforcement of policies across physical, geographical boundaries & time zones - the mobile world.
Netintelligence is available in two editions- Internet Security for Businesses and Security & Parental Control for Consumers. Netintelligence is offered as an OEM solution for Service Providers, Distributors and Resellers.
